 Lakey Coast is a tourist resort with the longest white sand beach and virgin nature in East Sumbawa. This coast, with waves varying from 8 to 15 feet, is one of the best locations for surfers looking for challenging breaks. Its natural beauty appeals to both surfers as well as non-surfers looking for holiday destinations. Since the accommodation opened in 1988 the waves and the strange visitor who come to ride them have become the chief form of local entertainment perform and treat them with the sort of reverence normally reserved for surf stars at a Pro-contents. The Lakey swell period is from April to September. Late and early season October to March can offer perfect clean conditions with light winds. The windy season start from the end of July until middle of November with wind in the order of 13-25 knots. Windy at least 25 days out of a month during this period. |
